Our hearts go out to the families and pets affected by Hurricane Harvey, the Category 4 storm that inundated the Gulf Coast along Texas and Louisiana, and Hurricane Irma, which battered vulnerable islands and the Southeast region of the U.S. Our thoughts are with the people in these areas.
In times of need, Purina works with disaster relief partner Rescue Bank, a program of GreaterGood.org, to get our pet food, litter, and FortiFlora, a probiotic supplement that helps reduce symptoms of stress, to pet shelters throughout affected areas. Our shelter partner Humane Society of Greater Miami will receive nearly 1,900 pounds of dog and cat food and 6,000 pounds of cat litter, and we are ready to send additional product to pet shelters in the affected region as needs are determined.
Purina has also committed $25,000 to GreaterGood.org for disaster relief supplies and services to people and pets in anticipation of the Hurricane and after the storms hit. This builds on an earlier commitment of $25,000 to GreaterGood.org for Hurricane Harvey disaster relief. Read more about our Hurricane Harvey relief efforts here.
