143 veterinary hospitals across the country will rally communities to provide food and resources to local animal welfare organizations

ST. LOUIS, Nov. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- This November, Blue River PetCare and Purina are bringing together veterinary teams, pet owners, and communities across the country to help pets in need through its nationwide Community Pet Food Drive. From now through November 30, 143 participating Blue River PetCare hospitals across 127 cities and 37 states will collect pet food donations from clients, associates, and community members. Each hospital has partnered with an animal shelter or rescue organization, allowing donations to directly support pets in the communities Blue River teams serve.

In total, participating Blue River hospitals have selected 134 local shelter and rescue partners to benefit from the drive. Community members can donate pet food at participating clinics throughout November, helping fill a critical, ongoing need for local animal welfare organizations. Additionally, Purina will help extend the impact of community donations and provide additional resources to participating shelters and rescues.

From the Shelter to Forever

The Blue River PetCare Community Pet Food Drive is designed to support pets not only while they are in the care of local shelters and rescues, but also as they transition into their forever homes. New pet adopters from participating rescue organizations will receive a voucher for a complimentary wellness exam at their local Blue River PetCare clinic. It's a way to connect newly adopted pets and their families with a veterinarian, while reinforcing the importance of regular veterinary care.

In addition, community members who donate to the drive will also be eligible to receive a coupon from Purina for www.proplanvetdirect.com, redeemable through their participating Blue River clinic as a thank-you for supporting pets in need. 40 coupons will be available per participating hospital and will be distributed on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.
